Heritage Sandy Springs
Speaker: Scott McMahan

Our next membership meeting is Tuesday, January 17th at Heritage Sandy Springs, 6110 Bluestone Road, Sandy Springs. Scott McMahan will highlight his October 2011 trek to the Fanjing Shan Mountain range in remote China. Live vicariously through Scott's travels and take in the gorgeous scenery, unique plants, and interesting cuisine - like hornet wine!

McMahan will also discuss plants that we can incorporate into our gardens to make them more inviting during the winter months. From the zested orange blooms of the Hamamelis (witchhazel) to the spicily fragrant blooms of Prunus mume (Japanese flowering apricot) and intricate fanged flowers of the groundcover Epimedium (fairy wings), Scott is sure to introduce us to some "must-have" plants.

Plants will be available for purchase after the meeting. Pre-orders are welcomed. See mcmahansnursery.com/inventory for a list of available plants. McMahan is the owner of East Atlanta's Garden Hood as well as McMahan's Nursery in Clermont, Ga (near Lake Lanier)
